The Gender Empowerment & Wellness Centre (GEWC) is a community-based non-profit in Baringo County dedicated to promoting the empowerment, rights, and well-being of women and girls through inclusive & locally-driven initiatives.
About GEWC
Gender Empowerment & Wellness Centre (GEWC) was founded in Baringo County to respond to the urgent needs of women and girls in grassroots communities. As a community-based, non-profit organization, we focus on breaking barriers that limit opportunities and threaten dignity.
Our work spans skills training, entrepreneurship support, mentorship, advocacy, and access to essential services such as Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and protection against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). By combining practical support with advocacy for systemic change, we aim to build stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.
Our Work
We provide skills training, entrepreneurship support, and essential services in GBV, SRH, and WASH. Our work also advances gender equality, climate change advocacy, and research for lasting community change.
